• Workspace permission to authorize or generate an MCP key

Setup steps

1. Add https://api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP server.
2. Use the approved Ahrefs connector/OAuth flow where available, or generate a dedicated MCP key under Ahrefs workspace ? Account Settings ? API Keys and store it as a Bearer token.
3. Review workspace plan limits and API-unit allowance; calls consume Integration API units.
4. Verify read access with a modest, non-destructive keyword or domain query.

The user-provided Ahrefs MCP view shows 12 read-only tools. Official Ahrefs docs describe a larger configurable inventory with tools grouped by category; this 12-tool list is the specific view shown, not a universal total.
