# MCPfolio MCP server

## Connection

- Endpoint: https://www.mcpfolio.com/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: none
- Protocol: Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Connect this remote MCP endpoint using your client's native setup flow. MCPfolio discovers providers and prepares supported setup actions; it does not execute provider tools through MCPfolio or make every catalog entry already connected.

## Available tools

| Tool | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| `search_mcps` | Search the published catalog by task, capability, category, or client. |
| `get_mcp_details` | Read source-backed information and setup readiness for a catalog entry. |
| `create_setup_plan` | Prepare client-specific setup steps for selected entries. This does not install or connect them. |
| `catalog_info` | Read catalog size, version, and supported setup clients. |

## Catalog

- Validated setup adapters: Claude Code, Cursor
- Legacy recipe client options: VS Code, Claude Desktop, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Manual
- Published entries: 659

Discovery and setup planning are read-only on MCPfolio's server. A host assistant may apply a returned setup action only with its own authorized local capabilities and the client's normal approval controls. The user completes provider authentication in the provider/client flow. A plan does not prove that configuration, authentication, or provider tools are working.
