  • Access Semrush market and project data from AI clients
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.semrush.com/v2/mcp
Authentication
OAuth is the default and starts a Semrush sign-in flow. Clients that cannot use OAuth can send an API key with Authorization: Apikey <key>.

Requirements

  • Semrush account with eligible MCP entitlement; Semrush One, SEO Classic, or API-user access is described, while individual features may have separate requirements
  • MCP client supporting the relevant remote HTTP/OAuth or API-key flow

Setup steps

  1. Add https://mcp.semrush.com/v2/mcp as a Streamable HTTP MCP server.
  2. Complete OAuth in the browser when prompted.
  3. For clients without OAuth, pass the Semrush API key using Authorization: Apikey <key> and keep it in a protected secret setting.
  4. Check plan/API entitlement and verify with a low-impact read-only keyword or domain query.

Limitations and notes
  • Feature access depends on plan and API entitlement; some API/report families may require separate access or quotas.
  • Tool availability and complete exact tool inventory are not established in the retrieved first-party setup and product sources.
Source discrepancies
  • Semrush documents multiple access routes and plans (direct app OAuth, API-key access, Semrush One/SEO Classic, API users); verify eligibility in the user account rather than assuming every plan has identical access.
