About SE Ranking MCP

A vendor-hosted MCP service that lets an AI client query SE Ranking and SE Visible SEO and AI-visibility data, subject to account access and subscription entitlements.

What you can use it for

  • Research keywords, domains, backlinks and SERPs
  • Review project rank tracking, site audits and competitors
  • Inspect local marketing and Google Business Profile data
  • Analyze SE Visible brands, prompts, topics and AI search sources
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, vendor-hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://api.seranking.com/mcp
Authentication
Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 dynamic client registration; SE Ranking API key is also supported via X-Api-Key. Available tools depend on subscription.

Requirements

  • SE Ranking or SE Visible account with API access; available data depends on the subscription
  • Compatible MCP client
  • Browser for OAuth unless using an API key
  • Node.js for clients configured through mcp-remote

Setup steps

  1. Add https://api.seranking.com/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server in a client with native remote MCP/OAuth support, or use the official mcp-remote adapter where required.
  2. For OAuth, start the connection and complete sign-in and consent in the browser.
  3. For API-key authentication, obtain a key from the SE Ranking or SE Visible API Dashboard and configure it as the X-Api-Key header in the client's protected local configuration. Do not paste the key into chat or commit it.
  4. Confirm the server reports connected and lists available tools. Availability depends on account access; try a read-only domain or keyword query.

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • Not every API endpoint is available through MCP.
  • Data and tool availability depend on the user's subscription and API access.
  • A shared-workspace subaccount cannot use OAuth; the master account must supply its API key.
  • API-key authentication grants the same account access and cannot currently be restricted to read-only.
  • SE Ranking documents a troubleshooting step to clear saved ~/.mcp-auth data if OAuth state causes persistent connection errors; clearing it signs out locally.
Source discrepancies
  • The discovery listing names SE Ranking but does not distinguish MCP API access from the general REST API. This record describes only the official hosted MCP at api.seranking.com/mcp.
