About Ramp MCP

Ramp hosted MCP/CLI exposes finance and spend-management tools under the authenticated Ramp identity, with runtime availability governed by permissions, scopes, admin controls and environment.

What you can use it for

  • Finance operations
Connection and setup
Hosting
hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.ramp.com/mcp
Authentication
OAuth connection; Ramp CLI is recommended for coding agents.

Requirements

  • Ramp account and compatible AI client
  • ChatGPT one-click app setup requires a Plus or Pro subscription, according to Ramp docs
  • Admin/Business Owner permissions are needed for most organization-wide data and tools
  • Ramp Plus supports admin controls for employee MCP access

Setup steps

  1. Connect to https://mcp.ramp.com/mcp from an official connector or another OAuth-capable remote MCP client.
  2. Sign in to Ramp and complete OAuth. If using a custom client with a hosted redirect URI, submit the exact redirect URI to Ramp for allowlisting first.
  3. For coding agents, Ramp recommends the Ramp CLI setup path; use production or sandbox auth deliberately.
  4. Reconnect or restart after tool/access changes. Verify with a read-only query appropriate to the user's role. Do not assume write/approval actions are read-only.
Tools 1+

Removed 224 as a fixed tools/list count; tool visibility changes with role, client, and server updates.

  • ramp_get_latest_sync

Get the latest accounting sync commit for the acting user’s business and sync type.

    01

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • MCP is in beta and subject to change.
  • Canonical tool count is a generated snapshot; actual per-connection tools depend on identity, scopes, admin controls, client, environment, and CLI version.
Source discrepancies
  • Ramp also publishes a separate Developer MCP for searching Ramp API documentation. The discovery entry is identified as the hosted Ramp finance MCP, not the distinct docs-only MCP.
Original sources
  • official publisher documentation

Canonical generated reference lists 224 Ramp Agent Tools with exact names, descriptions, and parameters; tool rows withheld here pending extraction of the full generated inventory.

  • official separate server reference

This is Ramp Developer MCP, a separate documentation server. Its seven developer_docs_* tools are not treated as tools of the Ramp finance MCP listing.

  • official developer reference

Ramp says its capabilities are grouped by user intent rather than tool name and that the underlying surface evolves, so this remains a capability reference rather than an exact-name list.

  • official documentation

Current publisher or maintainer documentation reviewed 2026-10-28T19:00:00.000Z.

  • official vendor documentation

Ramp says available tools depend on user role and are added regularly; some connected users see only a few tools and admin roles expose more. The stored 224 appears to refer to capability/action surface and is not a stable tools/list count.
