Requirements

  • A Vanta account; the vendor says MCP is available to all customers.
  • The connecting user must have access to the relevant Vanta features and data.
  • Choose the regional endpoint matching the Vanta account (US, Europe, or Australia).

Setup steps

  1. Add a remote MCP server at `https://mcp.vanta.com/mcp` for US accounts, `https://mcp.eu.vanta.com/mcp` for Europe, or `https://mcp.aus.vanta.com/mcp` for Australia.
  2. Select OAuth authentication and complete Vanta’s browser authorization using the intended organizational account.
  3. Start a fresh client session and inspect the returned tools; use a harmless read-only request such as listing compliance frameworks to confirm data access.
  4. If authorization or results fail, check the user’s Vanta role, active account, regional URL, and whether the relevant Vanta product area is enabled; reconnect to refresh OAuth.
