About Render MCP

Render-maintained MCP server for managing services, deployments, logs, metrics, Postgres, and Key Value resources; some resource updates are dashboard-link only.

What you can use it for

  • Inspect Render workspaces and services
  • Query supported Render databases
  • Review metrics, logs, and deploys
  • Manage supported Render service resources
Connection and setup
Hosting
hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.render.com/mcp
Authentication
Hosted OAuth; API key alternative for non-interactive clients.

Requirements

  • Render account and access to a workspace
  • MCP client supporting Streamable HTTP and OAuth, or protected API-key header setup

Setup steps

  1. Add the official endpoint `https://mcp.render.com/mcp` to the client as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server.
  2. Complete the OAuth browser flow and authorize the required Render account access. For Codex CLI, use the Render docs’ OAuth setup and Codex MCP documentation; API keys are available from Render Account Settings for non-interactive setups.
  3. Set the active workspace in the client before using tools.
  4. Reconnect and verify tool discovery, then begin with read-only workspace/service/log queries. Review every deploy, environment-variable change, database operation, or resource creation before execution.
Tools 26+

26 exact identifiers transcribed from the official Render MCP README. This is a partial roster: the README also documents further resource tools outside these sections. Updates to web services, static sites, and cron jobs return dashboard links rather than applying the update directly.
