About Plaid Dashboard MCP

Plaid's remote Dashboard MCP provides production diagnostics and analytics for debugging Plaid Items, reviewing Link conversion, and checking usage metrics.

What you can use it for

  • Debug production Plaid Items
  • Review Link conversion analytics
  • Inspect Dashboard usage metrics
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://api.dashboard.plaid.com/mcp/
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client credentials using production Plaid client ID and secret with scope `mcp:dashboard`; pass access token as Bearer. This Dashboard server is distinct from Plaid's local AI coding toolkit MCP.

Requirements

  • Plaid team approved for Production access with at least one product
  • Production client ID and secret
  • Remote MCP client supporting Streamable HTTP and Bearer authorization

Setup steps

  1. Confirm Plaid team has Production access.
  2. Obtain an OAuth token at `https://production.plaid.com/oauth/token` using client_credentials grant and `mcp:dashboard` scope.
  3. Add `https://api.dashboard.plaid.com/mcp/` as remote Streamable HTTP and store the token as a protected Bearer credential.
  4. Use returned refresh token when renewing access; never put client secrets in chat.
  5. Verify using a read-only Item diagnostics or Link analytics request.
Tools 5

Plaid’s current first-party Dashboard MCP documentation explicitly lists the five supported tools. A live tools/list query requires production credentials and was not performed.

Limitations and notes
  • Production data only; team must have approved Production access for at least one Plaid product.
  • Under active development with possible breaking changes and limited support.
  • The local Plaid AI coding toolkit and Data Partner MCP are separate servers and are not merged into this Dashboard MCP record.
