Authentication
Remote setup may prompt for Netlify authorization when a tool requires account access. OAuth/login is completed through the client-provided flow; do not provide credentials in chat.

Requirements

  • Remote MCP-capable client, or Node.js/npx for local mode
  • Netlify account and site/team access for account-specific actions

Setup steps

  1. Recommended: add the remote URL https://netlify-mcp.netlify.app/mcp in the MCP client. Codex command: codex mcp add netlify --url https://netlify-mcp.netlify.app/mcp.
  2. When prompted, authorize Netlify in the browser.
  3. If remote servers are blocked, configure local package @netlify/mcp via npx.
  4. Verify with the documented get-user test call. Review tool effects before deployment or account changes.
