About monday.com Platform MCP

The hosted monday.com Platform MCP exposes tools for reading and writing workspace data such as boards, items, docs, dashboards, users and workflows through the monday GraphQL API.

What you can use it for

  • Read boards, groups, items and column values
  • Create and update monday work items and docs
  • Build dashboards and manage views
  • Manage users and workflows using available permissions
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, vendor-hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.monday.com/mcp
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 or personal API token; Streamable HTTP only (SSE is deprecated).

Requirements

  • monday.com account with permissions to the relevant boards/workspaces
  • Compatible MCP client supporting Streamable HTTP; OAuth preferred
  • Account admin approval for additional dynamic connectors or restricted account access

Setup steps

  1. Add https://mcp.monday.com/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server. Do not use the deprecated /sse URL.
  2. For compatible clients, start the OAuth flow and sign in to monday.com. For personal token use, create a token through profile picture ? Developers ? My access tokens, then store it locally as an Authorization: Bearer header.
  3. If registering a custom/public client, complete dynamic registration and request account administrator approval for the connection and redirect URIs.
  4. Reconnect and verify with a read-only query such as listing boards before making any updates.

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • The Platform MCP is read/write; tool calls can create, modify or delete monday data and run GraphQL mutations. Confirm write actions before execution.
  • Calls count against the account's daily API call limit.
  • The tool catalog evolves; some newer workflow, automation, agent and asset tools use a preview schema and may change.
  • SSE transport is deprecated and unsupported; use Streamable HTTP at /mcp.
  • Do not confuse Platform MCP (workspace data) with monday Apps MCP (app development, local npx).
Source discrepancies
  • The supplied publisher label mondaycom does not identify which monday server. This record is the vendor-hosted Platform MCP; the separately documented local Apps MCP is not merged into it.
