Requirements

  • MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP
  • Agreement to Microsoft Learn Terms of Use

Setup steps

  1. Add a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server at https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp; use the client's documented URL field.
  2. Reload the client if necessary and request a Microsoft documentation search.
  3. Use microsoft_docs_fetch with an official Learn URL to retrieve an article or microsoft_code_sample_search for official snippets.
  4. Do not open the MCP endpoint as an ordinary browser page; it is an MCP protocol endpoint and may return HTTP 405 to browser navigation.

  • Provides public Learn documentation; it does not provide training records or user-profile information.
  • Knowledge content updates incrementally and receives a full refresh daily, so very recent documentation changes may not appear immediately.
  • The endpoint is for MCP Streamable HTTP clients and is not intended for direct browser navigation.
