Requirements

  • Metricool account on any plan, including Free; the account plan's normal limits remain in force.
  • Client must support the documented external MCP connection method; specific client subscriptions/app availability may be required.
  • Free plan examples: up to 20 scheduled posts and 30 days of analytics history.

Setup steps

  1. Add https://ai.metricool.com/mcp using the connection method for your client; URL-based clients should use HTTP/OAuth.
  2. Authorize Metricool in browser and grant account access.
  3. For N8N only, configure Header Auth with X-Mc-Auth and an API key; this API-key method requires Advanced and is separate from OAuth MCP access.
  4. Use a read-only brand/analytics query first. Before scheduling or publishing content, inspect the full post text, selected brand/network and schedule, then ask the user to confirm.
  5. Check plan limits if data is incomplete or a post action fails.

Official docs confirm get_brands and update_schedule_post but describe additional analytics and Planner capabilities without a fixed complete tools/list. The two stored names are partial. Authenticated calls can schedule, edit or publish posts.

Limitations and notes
  • Inbox, comments and Google Business reviews, SmartLinks, autolists, Canva/Drive files, and Ads campaign management are not currently supported; advertising analytics are available. MCP works on all Metricool plans; normal account limits apply.
