Requirements

  • Node.js/npm/npx for local package
  • MCP-compatible coding client
  • Google account only when using the hosted remote endpoint

Setup steps

  1. For local MCP, add a stdio entry with command npx and args ["-y", "@mastra/mcp-docs-server@latest"].
  2. For Claude Code, Mastra documents claude mcp add --scope project mastra -- npx -y @mastra/mcp-docs-server@latest. For Codex, it documents codex mcp add mastra-docs -- npx -y @mastra/mcp-docs-server@latest.
  3. For remote access, configure https://mastra.mcp.kapa.ai in a supported client and complete Google sign-in when requested.
  4. Reload the client and verify with a read-only Mastra documentation question.
