About MasterGo Vibe MCP

A local adapter connecting AI clients to the running MasterGo desktop application so they can read design context and create, edit, or synchronize canvas content.

What you can use it for

  • Read selected design layers and export structured code context
  • Generate or modify pages and components on the canvas
  • Sync local static HTML into a canvas page
  • Read and update file variables and team-library context
Connection and setup
Hosting
local adapter plus MasterGo desktop app
Transport
stdio from npm adapter to MCP client; adapter connects to local MasterGo HTTP service
Endpoint
Local process; no hosted endpoint documented
Authentication
No personal token required. Access depends on the signed-in MasterGo account, open file permissions, active desktop MCP connection, and any team library subscription.

Requirements

  • MasterGo desktop client installed and running with a file open and MCP connected
  • Node.js 18+ and npm 8+
  • MCP-capable IDE or CLI
  • Team library subscription for component-library workflows

Setup steps

  1. Open MasterGo desktop and the target file; confirm its MCP service is connected.
  2. Configure local stdio command npx with args [-y, @mastergo/vibe-mcp@latest, --url=http://localhost:30678].
  3. If the local port changed, replace the URL with the actual displayed port.
  4. Reload the MCP client. Select a canvas layer and verify with get_selection_code.
  5. Require explicit user confirmation before full-page canvas sync, deletion, or variable removal.
Tools 16

Current official MasterGo Vibe MCP help lists 16 exact tools for local canvas/code read, design generation, node/variable edits, library access and sync. It runs through the local MasterGo app connection. agent_sync_design performs full-page synchronization and should only be called on explicit request; delete/update tools can mutate canvas state.

  • get_selection_code

Read code/structured information for the selected layer.

    01
  • get_selection_image

Return an image preview of selected canvas content.

    02
  • design_page

Generate a page design from a natural-language request.

    03
  • submit_page_to_canvas

Submit generated HTML content to the MasterGo canvas.

    04
  • agent_sync_design

Synchronize static HTML to the canvas; documentation says this requires explicit instruction.

    05
  • get_variables

    Read current file variables.

    06
  • update_variables

    Create or update variables.

    07
  • agent_remove_variable

Remove a variable; treat as high-risk/destructive.

    08
  • get_guidelines

Load MasterGo page, component, and variable generation rules.

    09
  • agent_remove_node

Delete the selected or specified canvas layer.

    10
  • get_library_list

List team component libraries available to the current file.

    11
  • get_component_info

Fetch component, icon, and variable details from a selected team library.

    12
  • agent_update_node

Apply a local change to an existing canvas node.

    13
  • agent_replace_node

Replace the contents of a canvas node.

    14
  • get_design_diff

Compare the local design baseline with the current canvas.

    15
  • agent_create_component

Create a reusable MasterGo component or component set.

    16
Limitations and notes
  • Requires the desktop client and live local bridge; not a standalone hosted endpoint.
  • Port 30678 may change when occupied.
  • Some operations modify or delete canvas contents; explicit instruction and accurate target selection are important.
  • Team library workflows require the current file to subscribe to the relevant team library.
Source discrepancies
  • Distinct from the older remote Magic MCP, which uses a personal access token and reads DSL/D2C data.
Original sources
  • official tool reference

Current MasterGo help lists 16 tools and explains local desktop connection, file writes, synchronization and destructive/edit operations.
