About Kismet Travel MCP

A hosted vacation-rental discovery MCP that searches independent property-manager collections, shows property details/reviews, and provides direct booking links; booking and payment are completed with the supplier.

What you can use it for

  • Find rental stays across managers; discover managers in a region; search by user-stated destination/date/guest constraints; inspect property details and reviews; maintain a shortlist; retrieve a direct booking link for supplier checkout.
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, vendor-hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.kismet.travel/mcp
Authentication
Browsing, search, and shortlisting work without an account. Kismet OAuth sign-in is used for guest profile/personalized account features and cross-device shortlist access. The server instructions say sign_in should only be called when the user explicitly requests sign-in. Guest-token and agent-inbox flows are separate; do not confuse guest access with Developer MCP credentials.

Requirements

  • An MCP client supporting remote Streamable HTTP. No account is required for public discovery/search. Kismet account sign-in is optional for profile and account-linked features.

Setup steps

  1. Add the remote Streamable HTTP endpoint https://mcp.kismet.travel/mcp using the MCP client's connector/server settings. Public browsing is immediately available without credentials. If the user wants personal profile or synced shortlist features, initiate the connector's Kismet OAuth flow only after explicit user intent and complete approval in the browser. Search results point to supplier-side booking; no booking or payment is completed by the MCP itself.
Tools 15

All 15 exact tool definitions were verified in an unauthenticated tools/list request. This record covers Kismet’s vacation-rental connector; other Kismet MCP products/documentation with different tool sets are separate and are not merged.

  • list_collections

Search the Kismet network for vacation-rental collections (property managers). Returns ranked collections with their slug (`collection_id`), regions, property count, and supported tools. Use this when the guest asks which managers operate in a place or wants to choose a manager. It is not required before network-wide search: search_bookables and discover_collections span every collection when `collections` is omitted. Searchable via free-text `query` plus optional `region`/`category` filters

    01
  • get_guest_profile

Get the signed-in user / guest Kismet account profile, identity, preferences, and account-level signals. Returns the currently authenticated user's (the logged-in guest's) Kismet profile: identity (first name), contact-channel status (whether an email / phone is on file and verified

    02
  • sign_in

Trigger the Kismet OAuth sign-in flow for the current guest. Call this whenever the user explicitly asks to sign in, log in, authenticate, or connect their Kismet account

    03
  • use_guest_token

Load READ-ONLY context from a Kismet guest token

    04
  • verify_agent_inbox

Record and verify the email inbox that belongs to THIS agent (not to the person it acts for), so the agent can later sign back in on its own with sign_in_agent. Two steps with the same call: without `code`, Kismet mails a six-digit code to the address; with `code`, the inbox is marked verified. Requires the agent bearer from the device flow or a connector sign-in. An agent address is never used to create a guest account.

    05
  • sign_in_agent

Sign this agent back in through its own verified email inbox, with no bearer and no action from the person. Two steps with the same call: without `code`, Kismet mails a six-digit code to the inbox; with `code`, Kismet returns the agent bearer (access and refresh token) that acts for the linked person. Only a verified inbox on an agent the person already linked works; anything else is told to link first.

    06
  • get_booking_link

Returns a booking link for a specific vacation rental property. Use when a guest is ready to book. When dates are provided they are validated against the property's booking rules (availability, minimum/maximum stay, arrival/departure restrictions); if the stay is not bookable, the result carries datesRejected with the reason and up to three alternate date windows

    07
  • search_bookables
    08
  • discover_collections

Visually discover bookable-stay managers (collections) and their properties as an interactive carousel. OMIT `collections` to discover across the whole network (the widget shows manager filter cards plus an interleaved property carousel), pass one to feature a single manager, or several to compare. Each property card opens full details. Use this for browsing/visual presentation; use search_bookables when the guest has specific filters and you want ranked text candidates.

    09
  • build_bookable_carousel

Present a curated set of specific properties as an interactive visual carousel. Pass `propertySlugs` in your chosen order, plus the collection_id(s) those properties belong to in `collections`

    10
  • shortlist_bookable

Save or remove a vacation rental property from the guest's shortlist. Reversible. Anonymous guests are tracked via the MCP session ID; signed-in guests via their guest ID

    11
  • get_bookable_reviews

Get guest reviews for a specific vacation rental property or for the entire collection. Returns a summary and individual review texts that can be used to answer questions about guest experiences.

    12
  • get_shortlist

Show the guest's saved/shortlisted vacation rental properties for this collection. Call this when the user wants to see their saved properties or review their shortlist.

    13
  • get_collection_content

Returns collection-level content for a VRM. Sections: "about" (collection info), "reviews" (guest reviews with ratings). Use for guest questions about the company, area, or review quality.

    14
  • get_bookable_detail

Returns full details for a specific vacation rental property: description, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, outdoor spaces, features, policies, and recent reviews. Use when a guest wants to know more about a specific property.

Limitations and notes
  • Property inventory and supported capabilities vary by independent collection/property manager; collections do not share inventory.
  • Booking and payment happen with the supplier, not inside the MCP conversation.
  • Some profile, guest, shortlist, and agent-link operations require OAuth or user/agent tokens; never treat guest tokens as Developer MCP credentials.
  • The separate Kismet Developer MCP at /developer-mcp is a builder integration server and is not this guest travel connector.
