About Keploy MCP

Keploy's hosted MCP endpoint provides agent access to its API testing and test generation platform.

What you can use it for

  • Discover Keploy API testing tools
  • Generate API test suites from an OpenAPI specification
  • Review API coverage gaps and test results
Connection and setup
Hosting
Hosted Keploy API service; self-hosted deployments can use their own API server address.
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://api.keploy.io/client/v1/mcp
Authentication
Keploy API key in the Authorization: Bearer header. The documented agent-based API test generation feature is available on the Enterprise plan.

Requirements

  • A Keploy account and API key; Enterprise plan for agent-based test generation.
  • A running target API server for generating and running test suites; an OpenAPI spec is optional.

Setup steps

  1. Open the Keploy Console and obtain an API key. The official documentation says an organization administrator can bootstrap the first key; keep it in a local secret store.
  2. Configure an MCP client to connect to https://api.keploy.io/client/v1/mcp using Streamable HTTP and the header Authorization: Bearer <KEPLOY_API_KEY>.
  3. Restart or reload the client and inspect the advertised tools. Newer servers default to tool-search mode, so tools/list initially shows meta-tools such as get_auth_status, get_setup_instructions, search_tools, get_tool_schema, and invoke_tool; use search_tools or get_tool_schema to discover the API tools.
  4. For a harmless check, call get_auth_status or search_tools. Do not create or run tests against a target unless the user has explicitly selected that application and environment.
Tools 7+

The official docs describe 43+ API tools and dynamic generation from the service API. Default tool-search mode exposes a small set of meta-tools through tools/list; specific tool schemas and invocation are discovered on demand.

  • get_auth_status

    Check the current authentication state.

    01
  • get_setup_instructions

Return instructions for connecting and using the Keploy MCP server.

    02
  • search_tools

Search the dynamically available Keploy API tools.

    03
  • get_tool_schema

    Fetch schemas for named tools.

    04
  • invoke_tool

Invoke a discovered Keploy API tool.

    05
  • generateTestSuites

Generate API tests from an OpenAPI specification.

    06
  • get_coverage_gaps

Return uncovered API endpoints with suggestions.

    07

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • The documented MCP test-generation feature is marked Enterprise-only.
  • Available API tools depend on the Keploy server version and default tool-search mode.
  • This entry has documentation verification only; no connection, capability-list, or functionality test was performed.
Original sources
  • official mcp setup documentation

Keploy's official docs identify the /client/v1/mcp endpoint, bearer API-key authentication, Enterprise plan prerequisite, default dynamic tool-search behavior, core meta-tools, and API test generation workflows.

  • official repository

The Keploy organization maintains the canonical source repository for the product.

  • verified repository owner avatar

Keploy GitHub organization avatar, downloaded, decoded, and reviewed on light and dark backgrounds; selected at fallback tier D because no standalone MCP project mark was confirmed.

  • official or maintainer tool reference

Official Keploy docs describe progressive tool search and schema retrieval; tools/list exposes meta-tools while the backend catalog is dynamic.
