About Intlayer MCP

Intlayer's MCP server gives AI coding clients access to Intlayer documentation and project-aware CLI workflows for internationalized content.

What you can use it for

  • Look up current Intlayer documentation while coding
  • Use Intlayer CLI workflows through an MCP host
  • Manage Intlayer dictionaries, translations, and project setup with AI assistance
Connection and setup
Hosting
hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.intlayer.org (remote docs-only server); local `@intlayer/mcp` adds project CLI tools.
Authentication
Remote server is public, unauthenticated, and free; local server uses local project context and CLI.

Requirements

  • Node.js and npm/npx for the local server.
  • An MCP-compatible client.
  • To use the hosted server, network access to https://mcp.intlayer.org.

Setup steps

  1. For the full local integration, configure the MCP client to run `npx` with args [`-y`, `@intlayer/mcp`] using stdio.
  2. The official setup assistant can also be run with `npx intlayer init mcp`; choose the MCP host and local stdio transport when prompted.
  3. Restart or reload the MCP server and inspect tools/list. The official documentation describes the available functionality but does not publish a fixed canonical list of protocol tool names.
  4. The hosted endpoint `https://mcp.intlayer.org` uses Streamable HTTP and is documentation-only; it does not expose the local CLI tools. The official guide says hosted capacity is limited and recommends local stdio for reliability.
  5. Use the package version selected by the project or client. The official manual config uses `npx -y @intlayer/mcp` without a version pin.
Tools 39

39 exact identifiers from current Intlayer MCP source. 27 API/documentation tools are registered in both modes; 12 CLI/setup tools are local-mode only. API calls still require configured authentication.

Limitations and notes
  • Intlayer says remote-host availability is not guaranteed and limits simultaneous connections.
