Authentication

Interactive browser OAuth through /http, or an Enigma API key sent as x-api-key to /http-key. Enigma documents API-key auth as recommended for Claude Code and Cursor and OAuth for its Claude/ChatGPT connector flows. An Enigma account is required; API key is created in Enigma Console ? Settings ? Account ? API keys.

Requirements

• Enigma account and access to its Console. For API-key setup, create an Enigma API key. Client plan/permissions vary: official docs specify Claude Pro or Claude for Work owner permissions for Claude custom connectors; Cursor Pro or team admin; ChatGPT Pro/Plus or eligible managed workspace with developer/custom connector access. The remote MCP service is in beta.

Setup steps

1. Native remote clients: add https://mcp.enigma.com/http and complete Enigma Console browser OAuth when prompted. For API-key transport, configure https://mcp.enigma.com/http-key with header x-api-key: <ENIGMA_API_KEY>. Claude Code command documented by Enigma: claude mcp add --transport http enigma https://mcp.enigma.com/http-key --header "x-api-key:<your_api_key>". Cursor/Gemini CLI/VS Code docs also show npx @enigma-com/enigma-mcp-remote@latest as a local bridge with the remote /http-key endpoint and x-api-key header; use that only for clients/configurations that require the bridge. Never place the key in chat. Restart/reload if tools do not appear. Verify with a harmless business lookup such as ?Find basic information about Tacombi's business.?
