About Close MCP

Close's hosted MCP connects AI clients to Close CRM data and actions, including lead, contact, activity, task, opportunity and workflow operations. Available tools depend on the authorized access scope.

What you can use it for

  • Search CRM leads, contacts, activities and opportunities
  • Review CRM activity and sales performance
  • Create or update CRM records with write_safe permission
  • Use destructive CRM actions only with explicit authorization and the appropriate scope

Authentication
OAuth 2.0 with Dynamic Client Registration; custom integrations can use a Close API key plus Close-Scope (mcp.read, mcp.write_safe, or mcp.write_destructive).

Requirements

  • Close organization and user account
  • For API-key mode, create a key under Settings > Developer > API Keys
  • For OAuth app/custom connector paths, follow Close OAuth app setup; end users grant organization access and scope

Setup steps

  1. Add remote endpoint https://mcp.close.com/mcp using Streamable HTTP.
  2. Claude Code: claude mcp add --scope user --transport http close https://mcp.close.com/mcp; run /mcp and complete OAuth.
  3. Cursor: install/add the Close server in MCP Tools, then Connect and choose organization/scope.
  4. Claude: connect the official Close organization connector, or add a custom connector; duplicate organization connectors need unique URL query values as described by Close.
  5. VS Code: configure an HTTP server in MCP settings. For API key auth, use input prompt for the key and set Close-Scope to mcp.read by default.
  6. API key alternative: send Close-API-Key and Close-Scope headers. Start with mcp.read; use write scopes only when required.
  7. Verify with a harmless organization or lead read. Close does not support SSE.
Tools 137

Close’s current complete tools reference enumerates 137 tools across read-only, safe-write, and destructive scopes. Each higher scope includes the lower scopes; the connected Close-Scope header or OAuth grant controls which tools a user sees. This is the product-wide documented inventory, not one account’s runtime tools/list.
