Authentication

BambooHR OAuth 2.0 through an administrator-approved developer portal/marketplace application; the Composio toolkit also lists API-key authentication, but BambooHR terms prohibit sharing API keys with third parties, so do not use an API key with this platform.

Requirements

• BambooHR account and company domain.
• A BambooHR OAuth application registered through the Developer Portal or Marketplace with required scopes and redirect URI.
• BambooHR workspace administrator approval for the third-party integration.
• Composio connection configured with a permitted OAuth application; toolkit page states Composio-managed OAuth is unavailable.

Setup steps

1. Ask the BambooHR workspace administrator to confirm Composio is an approved OAuth integration for the organization.
2. Register an OAuth application through the BambooHR Developer Portal/Marketplace and configure the exact redirect URI required by Composio.
3. Use the BambooHR company domain and approved OAuth client details in Composio’s secure connection flow.
4. Do not enter a BambooHR API key: current BambooHR terms prohibit using API keys for third-party integrations; third-party apps must use the OAuth framework.
5. Inspect tools/list and confirm HR-data access and any employee record changes before use.
