About AntV Visualization Libraries MCP

AntV's local MCP server preprocesses AntV-related visualization questions and retrieves current documentation, code examples, and best practices for AntV libraries including G2, G6, L7, X6, F2, and S2.

What you can use it for

  • Find current AntV library documentation and code examples
  • Identify which AntV library and implementation approach fits a visualization task
  • Troubleshoot or learn AntV visualization APIs
Connection and setup
Hosting
Local
Transport
stdio
Endpoint
Local process; no hosted endpoint documented
Authentication
No authentication is documented for the local stdio package.

Requirements

  • Node.js 18 or later
  • An MCP client that supports local stdio servers

Setup steps

  1. Add a local stdio server with command npx and args ["-y", "@antv/mcp-server-antv"].
  2. On Windows, the README documents using command cmd with args ["/c", "npx", "-y", "@antv/mcp-server-antv"].
  3. In VS Code the README gives ~/.vscode/mcp.json with a servers object; use the client's current official config format if it differs.
  4. Reload the client and verify by asking an AntV library question; the documented flow calls extract_antv_topic before query_antv_document.
Tools 2

The AntV maintainer repository lists both stored tools: extract_antv_topic and query_antv_document.

  • extract_antv_topic

Extracts AntV-related intent, detects library/task context, and prepares a structured query; repository says to call first for AntV queries.

    01
  • query_antv_document

Retrieves relevant AntV documentation, code examples, and best practices; follows the preprocessing step.

    02
Limitations and notes
  • The repository README explicitly lists G2, G6, and F2 as supported; S2, X6, L7, and other libraries are described as coming soon, while its tool overview mentions a broader library set. This is a source inconsistency; treat support beyond G2/G6/F2 as uncertain pending clarification.
  • Returns documentation context and examples; it is not itself a chart rendering or chart generation server.
  • Requires a local Node.js runtime.
Source discrepancies
  • The repository feature summary names G2/G6/F2 as available and says S2/X6/L7 are coming soon, but later tool descriptions name those libraries as supported. The record conservatively flags the discrepancy.
