About WordPress.com MCP

The WordPress.com hosted MCP server lets AI clients access account sites and manage site content; Jetpack-connected self-hosted sites use the same server and tool catalog.

What you can use it for

  • Inspect and manage WordPress.com sites
  • Edit supported site content with an AI client
  • Connect Jetpack-enabled self-hosted sites
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, cloud-hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://public-api.wordpress.com/wpcom/v2/mcp/v1
Authentication
OAuth 2.1 through browser authorization.

Requirements

  • Self-hosted WordPress requires Jetpack AI or Jetpack Complete plan

Setup steps

  1. Enable MCP access in WordPress.com account settings.
  2. Add the official remote URL to a supported client and complete OAuth in browser.
