About Vercel MCP

Vercel official hosted MCP connects AI clients to Vercel documentation, projects, deployments, logs, and Web Analytics. Available operations depend on the client, OAuth grant, and team or project permissions.

What you can use it for

  • Search official Vercel documentation
  • Inspect and manage Vercel projects and deployments
  • Analyze deployment logs and runtime errors
  • Query Web Analytics such as visitors, page views, and custom events
  • Fetch protected Vercel deployment URLs
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, cloud-hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.vercel.com
Authentication
OAuth authorization with a Vercel account; explicitly authorize each supported client and grant access to the relevant teams. Existing Vercel permissions still apply.

Requirements

  • Vercel account and access to the teams/projects the client should use
  • Client must be supported by Vercel; its supported-client list can change
  • Use is subject to Vercel AI Product Terms; Vercel states MCP is available on all plans

Setup steps

  1. For Codex CLI, run: codex mcp add vercel --url https://mcp.vercel.com.
  2. Start or reload Codex and complete the Vercel OAuth browser flow; choose the account and teams to authorize.
  3. Check the connection and available tools in Codex with /mcp or codex mcp list. Tool availability and parameters depend on the client, OAuth grant, and team/project scope; use the schema returned by the connection.
  4. Enable human confirmation for actions that can change projects, deployments, settings, or incur purchases.
Tools 9+

Vercel’s current reference documents 217 catalog tools and 31 workflow/widget tools, with availability and parameters varying by client, OAuth grants, team/project scope and server configuration. Only a nine-tool frequently used subset is preserved here, so it remains partial; use the connected server tools/list for the account-specific inventory.

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • Connecting grants the AI client access equivalent to the authorizing Vercel account within the teams and resources explicitly granted; review client and agent behavior carefully.
  • The server includes management capabilities. Available tools and their parameters vary by client, server configuration, OAuth grant, and team/project permissions.
  • Vercel recommends enabling human confirmation in workflows. Review potentially consequential changes and purchases before approval.
  • Only supported/reviewed AI clients can connect; the list can change.
Source discrepancies
  • An earlier Vercel product announcement described read-only account access; the current official MCP overview and tool reference document project/deployment management and broad resource tools. This record follows the newer official documentation and does not characterize the server as read-only.
Original sources
