About Trello MCP

Atlassian-hosted Trello MCP lets an AI assistant read, search, and act on boards, cards, and tasks in explicitly authorized workspaces.

What you can use it for

  • Search and read authorized Trello workspace data
  • Work with Trello boards, lists, cards, and supported attachments
  • Create or modify Trello work items within granted permissions

Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.trello.com/v1
Authentication
OAuth 2.0; select authorized workspaces and grant Read, Write, and/or Search.

Requirements

  • Trello account on any plan
  • MCP client with remote HTTP support
  • Modern browser for OAuth consent

Setup steps

  1. Add the remote MCP URL https://mcp.trello.com/v1 in the client’s MCP settings.
  2. Start the client connection and complete the Trello OAuth browser flow.
  3. Select the intended workspace(s), review the permissions, and approve.
  4. Reload the MCP tools; verify with a read-only board lookup before using write-capable actions.
Tools

No individual tool names are documented in the reviewed sources.

Current Atlassian Support docs confirm separate Trello MCP and OAuth workspace access; direct unauthenticated initialize returned HTTP 401. Do not copy tools from the distinct Atlassian Rovo MCP or community Trello servers.

Limitations and notes
  • Permanent delete operations are not supported; cards and lists can be archived.
  • Actions respect the connected user’s Trello permissions.
