About Sentry MCP

Sentry's hosted MCP server connects AI clients to Sentry organizations and projects to search errors, inspect performance, triage issues, access documentation, and manage project context.

What you can use it for

  • Search and investigate errors and issues
  • Inspect performance and project health
  • Retrieve Sentry documentation and use Seer issue analysis
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote hosted; local stdio mode is also described in Sentry's overview
Transport
Streamable HTTP with SSE fallback; stdio option documented
Endpoint
https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp
Authentication
OAuth login to a Sentry account is required. Endpoint can be scoped to an organization or project in its path; project scoping is recommended.

Requirements

  • Sentry account with access to the target organization/project
  • MCP client supporting remote HTTP and OAuth
  • Organization/project slug if using a scoped endpoint

Setup steps

  1. Add https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp as a remote HTTP MCP server, optionally scoped to /mcp/{organizationSlug}/{projectSlug}.
  2. Complete the Sentry OAuth browser flow.
  3. Use organization/project scoping where possible to constrain context and hide unrelated discovery tools.
  4. Verify access with a read-only query about an existing issue or project before asking for changes.
Tools 15+

These named tools are representative. Sentry MCP includes dynamic tool discovery through search_sentry_tools and execution through execute_sentry_tool; available tools depend on connected organization and permissions.

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • Access follows the connected Sentry user's organization/project permissions.
  • Optional experimental tool variants require the experimental=1 query parameter.
  • Sentry tools may support project creation/configuration or other changes; inspect available tool effects before use.
