Setup steps

  1. Run interactive setup `npx @dollhousemcp/mcp-server@latest --web` or configure Claude Code using `claude mcp add -s user dollhousemcp -- npx -y @dollhousemcp/mcp-server`.
  2. Other clients use the setup wizard or manual configuration in the quick-start docs.
  3. Set GITHUB_TOKEN only if using GitHub portfolio operations; keep token outside chat and source control.
Tools 5+

The current DollhouseMCP repository is an actively developed local persona/skills/templates server with thousands of commits. The catalog retains five mcp_aql_* generic data-operation tools from the existing inventory; current README does not provide a closed product-wide tools list, so treat this as a documented subset rather than a guaranteed complete runtime list.

  • mcp_aql_create
    01
  • mcp_aql_read
    02
  • mcp_aql_update
    03
  • mcp_aql_delete
    04
  • mcp_aql_execute
    05

This server’s available tools can vary by account, permissions, or configuration. The list shown is not its full runtime catalog.

Limitations and notes
  • Advanced Gatekeeper/agentic-loop features are reported as tested extensively on Claude Code; behavior on other clients is not asserted.
  • AGPL-3.0-or-later; commercial license available per project.
  • Permission hook support varies by client.
