About Dock MCP

Dock’s hosted MCP lets AI clients find workspaces and deal rooms, search content, retrieve account context, manage tags/workspaces, and interact with Dock agents.

What you can use it for

  • Find deal rooms/workspaces and search the Dock content library.
  • Pull account information, tag assets in bulk, and create templated workspaces.
  • Interact with custom Dock agents.
Connection and setup
Hosting
Remote, cloud-hosted
Transport
HTTP remote MCP
Endpoint
https://api.dock.us/mcp
Authentication
OAuth; ChatGPT connector requires workspace admin to publish, then each user connects their own Dock account.

Requirements

  • Dock account with permissions for the target workspaces and assets
  • For ChatGPT, ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, or Edu for full write/modify access; Dock docs say Plus/Pro are read-only
  • For ChatGPT, a workspace admin must enable Developer Mode/custom MCP connectors and create/publish the Dock app

Setup steps

  1. For ChatGPT, ask a workspace admin to enable Developer Mode under Workspace Settings ? Permissions & Roles ? Connected Data.
  2. The admin creates an app under Workspace Settings ? Apps ? Create, using URL https://api.dock.us/mcp, name Dock, and OAuth authentication, then completes the OAuth prompt and publishes the app.
  3. Each user opens Apps in ChatGPT, finds Dock, selects Connect, and signs in to their own Dock account.
  4. For other MCP clients, Dock's vendor announcement says it supports MCP-compatible assistants, but the reviewed official client-specific instructions only specify the ChatGPT admin flow; use client-specific vendor instructions when available rather than assuming identical setup.
  5. Verify with a read-only search for an existing workspace or asset. Ask for confirmation before creating workspaces or changing tags.
Tools

No individual tool names are documented in the reviewed sources.

Current official Dock.us docs and feature page do not name tools; live endpoint requires workspace OAuth (HTTP 401 unauthenticated). Similar-name trydock.ai tools are unrelated and excluded.

Limitations and notes
  • MCP is in beta.
  • Workspace admins must enable and publish the app.
  • ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, or Edu is required for write/modify support; Plus/Pro are read-only.
  • Dock asks for confirmation before creating workspaces or changing tags.
Source discrepancies
  • Vendor overview announces several client integrations, while accessible detailed connection steps specifically document ChatGPT and Codex. The record does not invent client-specific setup instructions for Claude or Gemini.
