About Dice MCP

Dice's hosted MCP searches its technology-focused job listings using keywords and filters for location, workplace, employment type, posting date, sponsorship and more.

What you can use it for

  • Find software and other technology jobs by role, skills, location and date.
  • Filter job listings by remote/hybrid/on-site, contract/full-time and visa sponsorship.
  • Compare job details and open direct application links.
Connection and setup
Hosting

Transport
Streamable HTTP; Dice says Streamable HTTP works and setup example uses HTTP. A separate Dice article also mentions SSE support.
Endpoint
https://mcp.dice.com/mcp
Authentication
No authentication required for basic public job search.

Requirements

  • MCP-compatible client with remote HTTP support.
  • Some clients may require paid subscriptions or administrator enablement; this is client-specific, not a Dice account requirement.

Setup steps

  1. Add https://mcp.dice.com/mcp as a remote MCP server using HTTP/Streamable HTTP; no Dice login or token is required.
  2. Claude Desktop: merge the remote server entry into the existing mcpServers object and restart Claude Desktop.
  3. ChatGPT: Dice docs describe a custom connector with no authentication; availability and eligibility depend on current ChatGPT account settings.
  4. Gemini CLI: configure the remote endpoint in the existing settings.json mcpServers map, then run /mcp list.
  5. Verify with a read-only job search using a required keyword and optional filters.
Tools 1

Dice’s current official MCP page lists one tool, `search_jobs`, and documents the exact required keyword and optional geographic, recency, workplace, employment, employer, sponsorship, easy-apply and result-field parameters. No-auth access is documented for basic use.

Limitations and notes
  • The MCP accesses publicly available job listings and does not access a user's Dice account, resume or application history unless separately supplied to the AI client.
  • No documented ability to apply for jobs; tool is search-only.
  • No runtime connection test performed.
Source discrepancies
  • Dice setup article calls SSE recommended and says HTTP Streaming also works; the technical page and Claude Desktop example use HTTP/Streamable HTTP. Prefer Streamable HTTP for current configuration while recording the SSE mention.
  • Dice article includes older client UI, subscription, and Gemini package instructions that may change; those details are not generalized into server requirements.
