About Bitrefill eCommerce MCP

Bitrefill's hosted commerce MCP server lets an authenticated user discover digital products, review product terms, create purchase invoices, complete multi-step bill-payment prepayment, and track resulting orders.

Authentication
OAuth login is the normal interactive flow. API-key path is documented for automation or clients without OAuth: https://api.bitrefill.com/mcp/YOUR_API_KEY. API keys authorize purchases on the user's behalf and must be protected.

Requirements

  • Bitrefill account for interactive OAuth use
  • For purchases, an accepted payment method or account balance; see current payment methods in official docs

Setup steps

  1. Add https://api.bitrefill.com/mcp to a supported remote MCP client.
  2. Complete the browser OAuth login and authorization when prompted.
  3. Start with read-only product search and product details.
  4. Before any purchase tool, review product, denomination, recipient details, price, payment method, and user approval.
  5. After user-directed purchase, use invoice lookup to check status; do not make purchases as a connection test.

Limitations and notes
  • buy-products creates purchase invoices and can enable real payment or delivery. Never call it as a setup check or without explicit user purchase approval.
  • Some bill-payment products require a sequence of prepayment form steps before invoice creation.
  • API key URL exposes a sensitive credential; OAuth is recommended for interactive use.
