About VChart MCP

VisActor's VChart MCP server generates charts as images, VChart specifications, or interactive HTML from structured data and chart parameters.

Authentication
No authentication requirement for local mode is stated. Self-hosted HTTP deployment can be configured privately; follow the deployment operator's controls.

Requirements

  • Node.js >=22.7.5
  • Data to supply as chart parameters
  • Image/HTML export uses the configured VMind image service unless privately deployed

Setup steps

  1. Configure the local server with npx -y @visactor/vchart-mcp-server.
  2. For SSE or Streamable transport, install the package and start with --transport sse or --transport streamable; configure port and endpoint only if needed.
  3. If private image/HTML export is required, set VIMD_IMAGE_SERVER to the private export service.
  4. Verify by generating a harmless sample chart and inspect the chosen output format.

Limitations and notes
  • Requires Node.js 22.7.5 or newer.
  • Image and HTML generation use the external VMind export service by default.
