About Todoist MCP

Todoist’s hosted MCP gives AI clients access to Todoist tasks and projects, including reading, creating, and updating task/project data.

What you can use it for

  • Read and manage tasks and projects from supported clients.
  • Use natural-language queries for planning and daily reviews.
Connection and setup
Hosting
Vendor-hosted remote MCP
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://ai.todoist.net/mcp
Authentication
Hosted OAuth authorization through Todoist.

Requirements

  • Todoist account
  • MCP client with remote Streamable HTTP and OAuth support
  • Availability depends on client support

Setup steps

  1. Add `https://ai.todoist.net/mcp` as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server in the client.
  2. Complete the Todoist OAuth flow in the browser and grant only the requested account access.
  3. Reload/reconnect, then verify with a harmless task or project listing.
  4. Ask for explicit confirmation before creating, editing, completing, or deleting tasks.
