About Postman MCP Server (Minimal)

Postman hosted Minimal MCP is the default focused tool configuration for core workspaces, collections, environments, and API specifications.

What you can use it for

  • Create and maintain Postman collections and API specifications.
  • Run API tests and work with Postman resources using a smaller toolset than Full.
Connection and setup
Hosting
hosted
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Endpoint
https://mcp.postman.com/minimal (US); regional endpoints include https://mcp.eu.postman.com/minimal.
Authentication
OAuth on remote server; hosted MCP authorization flow.

Requirements

  • Postman account
  • API key required for local and EU remote; optional for US remote
  • Local setup requires source/Docker or official package

Setup steps

  1. For US remote, add https://mcp.postman.com/minimal as an HTTP MCP server and complete OAuth.
  2. EU users use https://mcp.eu.postman.com/minimal and a Postman API key as Bearer token.
  3. Choose remote versus local based on network access and privacy needs; local STDIO telemetry is off by default, remote telemetry is anonymous and collected.
  4. Start with read-only workspace/collection discovery and review each write before it changes shared Postman data.
Tools 42

42 exact identifiers were read from Postman's official enabledResources.minimal list and cross-checked against the server registration path. This is the Minimal configuration; tool availability and some operations depend on account plan and permissions.
