SDK guidance tool needs no credentials. Flag evaluation may require an OFREP endpoint and bearer/API key.

Requirements

  • Node.js/npm for npx setup
  • Optional OFREP-compatible feature flag service

Setup steps

  1. Configure stdio command npx with args [-y, @openfeature/mcp].
  2. For flag evaluation configure OFREP_ENDPOINT or OPENFEATURE_OFREP_BASE_URL and optional OPENFEATURE_OFREP_BEARER_TOKEN/OPENFEATURE_OFREP_API_KEY.
  3. Restart Codex after saving config; Codex command documented in README.

  • install_openfeature_sdk

    Install an OpenFeature SDK for a supported technology and optionally configure providers.

    Parameters: technology, providers

    Evaluate a feature flag through an OFREP endpoint, with optional context, ETag and authentication.

    Parameters: base_url, flag_key, context, etag, auth
